Property Redress Scheme
Smuts & Taylor is a member of the Property Redress Scheme, Membership Number PRS003577.
The Property Redress Scheme is an approved consumer redress scheme for property agents and professionals. It provides an independent route for consumers to escalate eligible complaints if a complaint cannot be resolved directly with the agent.
We always ask clients and customers to contact us first if they have a concern, so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter directly. Where a complaint cannot be resolved through our internal complaints process, eligible complainants may be able to refer the matter to the Property Redress Scheme.

Client Money Protect
Smuts & Taylor is a member of Client Money Protect, Membership Number CMP004917.
Client Money Protect is a government-approved client money protection scheme. Client money protection is designed to protect landlords’ and tenants’ money held by a letting or property management agent if that money is misappropriated, lost, stolen, or if the agent goes into administration.
This protection applies to client money held in connection with our lettings and property management work, subject to the rules, terms and limits of the Client Money Protect scheme.

Deposit Protection Service
Smuts & Taylor uses the Deposit Protection Service, Membership Number 1446500.
Where we are responsible for handling a tenancy deposit, we protect it through an authorised tenancy deposit protection scheme and provide the required prescribed information in accordance with the applicable rules.
The Deposit Protection Service provides tenancy deposit protection and dispute resolution services for landlords, tenants and letting agents. Its role is to help ensure that deposits are properly protected and that there is a structured process for dealing with deposit repayment and disputes at the end of a tenancy.
